Be listening for the live contest show this Friday, when Hoss & I will be interviewing a number of the artists in the top 10, including Ashley Austin, Six Gun Britt and Joseph Christ!!! Don’t miss it!!

    Tony Kinsel Reply:

Dirt Road Randy just agreed to be on tomorow’s show, too! Don’t miss him, either!

I just goet the news that Brady Anderson, the drummer of Sweating Honey, will also be on tomorrow’s show. It looks like I’ll have a full house to interview!!!

That’s a live show from June 30, 2009 that features, among other things, a very stripped down version of “Beer Bottles & Bandages”. Oh, and it’s a free download. The show also features “Fields of Asphodel”, a 9 minute song about an ugly experience I had using PCP and heroin with some friends about 15 years or so ago, and that’s a song that’s only been rolled out onstage twice in the past decade. There’s also a two-song dedication to GG Allin and a hi-fuckin-larious story about the then-fresh-dead Michael Jackson. Oh, and a rewrite of a Hank III tune.

Wanna thank the people who’ve been coming to vote. It’s nice seeing my name up there. I don’t think it’ll last, but it’s been real flattering while it has lasted, to be a sleazy scumpunk among all these popular and country musicians and seeing that my song was competitive.

Randy: I just played “Fields of Asphodel” on my show here on HTB, and I was really impressed. It kind of reminded me of early Bob Dylan. Thanks for sending me the rest of your “Beer Bottles & Bandages” cd. I’ve already added it to my show and the rotation on here, along with Joseph Christ’s 2 cds. I’ll be playing more songs off your cd, and his two cds, next Sunday night. Hope you’re listening!

    PCP and heroin….now there’s a combination!

You can hear the song for free at http://www.soundclick.com/dirtroadrandy if you havn’t heard it already on Hoss the Boss. The turnout is probably what you expect, it’s the ride getting there that’s all the damn mess. And it’s a true story.
