These songs are the top 5 finishers in the October edition of our silly contest. They’ll all join the top songs from previous 2009 months in the Finals in December. Voting is over for this month’s show, but it’ll all start up with another set of 30 new songs that we’ll debut in our next Live Show on Saturday, November 7 at 2 p.m. central time. We’ll be posting the formal list of new songs and guest in the contest right here sometime before Saturday (probably Wednesday or Thursday).

I just the cosmic gypsie, great music,can really play the sax.
I’ve been getting alot of e-mails, asking about my health. Thank You All for thinking about me. I went to my orthopaedic surgeon today, who looked at the MRI pictures and said it looks like the infection, while still there, has been reduced since he saw me last week. He still doesn’t want to cut into my leg unless he has no other choice, since I’m diabetic and don’t heal well, according to him. So, he gave me more antibiotics and pain pills and told me to see him again next Monday. He didn’t even mention hospitalization with IV antibiotics, like he’d been talking about last week as a possibility. So, thanks to everybody who thought about and even prayed for me! I should be able to do the contest show, and my DJ show this weekend with no problems, and, hopefully, will be feeling much better, by then. (But, please feel free to vote for my picks to show your sympathy for my condition! LOL)

Hey, Hoss, I just voted for Michelle & Melinda and my vote didn’t register!!!
(Just Kidding!) I actually checked before & after I voted, and my vote showed up as soon as I cast it. The only voting prolem I see is that my favorites this month, Michelle & Melinda, are not getting enough of them. I think I may actually have seen these two girls several years ago, playing for tips outside a club in Port Aransas. I remember them looking pretty much the way they look in their MySpace picture, only younger. They were good then, too, I even gave them a 5 dollar tip, something I never do! They’ve definitely got my votes this month.
Normally, it’s a no-brainer who to vote for in this contest, (because I usually like everbody Tony picks!), but last month I was voting for Shelby Downing, along with Ashley Austin, so my votes negated each other. This month, there’s several groups that I like other than Tony’s, like Dee’s Life Of Riley & Cosmic Gypsies (I was in the groove!). So, now I’m voting a split ticket, as the politicos would say, voting for Life Of Riley and the awesome Michelle & Melinda. I don’t know at this point who I’d rather see in 1st place, so long as they both make it to the finals in December!

I was starting to think Tony was some kind of wizard on the picks until I read the comments and saw his post promoting all his picks and what time he was going to play them! LOL I thought he had grandma on an 18 hour timer! LOL 5 of the top 10 pick’s. He needs to go to VEGAS! LOL (Sniffing the air around me) (Does anyone smell FISH)! LOL

Here’s another of the “unfair DJ Tony” comments, like a certain un-named sour-grapes person from last month posted. If you and Dee would like your own show every week on HossTheBoss, I’m sure that Don can set you up. All you need is your computer, and SKYPE, and Hoss to tell you how to get hooked up with his computer. I may be sick right now, but I do intend to do my show this Sunday night, and I’ll be playing alot of album cuts from Michelle & Melinda, Garfunkel & Oates, Scufflegrits, Judge Parker, Macon Greyson, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Coy Moore Band and Romancing The Devil. Unfortunately, at the moment, I only have the 1 new song from Kevin Fowler, and 2 from the Scooter Brown Band, but that might change by next weekend. Hope you’re listening this Sunday night, and then voting accordingly. By the way, as of this morning, I think I have 6 in the top 10!

Hey I dont need any more work Tony, so Im fine besides I have the very fishy unfair advantage of not being singular and only being here as a rep of Steve Carlson Fans.com and whose members along with others are doing a damn good job of keeping our picks away from the bottom. I think Hoss may have the short straw here lol.

Also, I have been doing my 2 hour DJ show every Sunday night, mostly live, since last June. Do you and Dee have that much time to devote to this? It would be nice to hear some of the groups that you have “discovered”, Rick. I, myself, have signed up 193 groups and individuals to play on HTB since I started doing this about a year and a half ago, and my entire show play-list, (I hate that word), is made up of songs from those groups. That’s why I call it “The Tony Kinsel & Friends Show”, because everyone I play is on my friend’s list on MySpace and have personally given me permission to play their music, including David Allan Coe, Billy Joe Shaver, Max Stalling, and Little Texas (who I took to #3 last June with “God Blessed Texas”), names you might have heard of somewhere in this contest! Is this a bitchy enough comment for you, Hoss? I think my painkillers are wearing off!! I’m sorry, Rick, remember, this is all supposed to be friendly rivalry in this contest, and all the participants are winners, as far as I’m concerned, both the groups & the DJ’s. Looking forward to hearing your picks this afternoon, as I hope you are mine. LMAO

My wife and I have been married since October 18th, 1974, 2 days after my 22nd birthday, and 4 days before I joined the Navy to support my new family of Peggy, and soon to be “little Draystin”, our firstborn, whose name is actually Eric. After all these years I think I know the way Peggy’s mind works, just as she does mine. She is not hard for me to understand, but other women, who knows? Everyone has their own agenda, and everyone, both male and female, present different faces to different people. It all depends on what they want out of the relationship. And, yes, I know that women frequently let men think they have the upper hand, but we all know better than that. Or should!

I am glad this month is so far all lighthearted and just before I get labeled as being a Womens Lib activist I would like to say that I am a realist, I work in a mans environment and have found that it really is a mans world… (well we like to let them think it is lol).
