Hey everybody,
I know that this site is not nearly as user friendly as it should be (something that will be changing in 2010), so I’m posting a note here to make sure you don’t miss the article that I just posted about Sasha’s MySpace problems. It’s at http://www.hosstheboss.com/2009/12/01/sasha-eleyces-myspace-horror-story/

Hoss!
Well I’ll be darned. I took a look and saw how beautiful Sasha is in her display and default picture. I was however unable to hear her 8 songs through the music player. Upon my search for reasonable explanation I could only find out this.
http://music.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=music.singleplaylist&friendid=265118193
Modified 9/22
Sabotage is a deliberate action aimed at weakening another entity through subversion, obstruction, disruption, or destruction.
Personally I think the music player crapped out.
I read where Sasha had the ability to post bulletins. How much more do you need?
Now I know trying to get through to myspace is an adventure in itself. All you generally receive are uncalled for automated responses which don’t address the issue you are asking about. But if you bug them enough the techs to get back to you. Not right away mind you.
As for someone putting all their eggs in one basket I agree with you.You need a back up plan. I hope she has a back up hard drive too.
I like your contests and I feel bad you have to keep justifying things you had no control over.
“Dang It Are You Listening to Me?”
By the way…
When you talked to myspace head quaters I hope you had a tie on.

I’ve taken a greater interest in this than is perhaps wise. I don’t feel responsible for Sasha’s MySpace problems, so I don’t look at my involvement as any sort of justification or rectification (is that a word?).
What motivated my letter to the MySpace PR director is my anger at learning that even someone whose page has huge numbers — and is, therefore, bringing in lots of money for MySpace — doesn’t warrant any true attention from MySpace’s staff.
A company that doesn’t have time to serve even it’s biggest clients is not a good company for anyone to be doing business with, I say. That’s the point I want to make.
Be very wary of MySpace everybody (or any other “social networking” site for that matter)! I think bands should take to installing chat, forum and other such “community” software on their own sites instead of wasting their time building huge fan bases on other sites that are going to ignore them when things go wrong.

I’m sorry for what happened to Sasha and I hope it wasn’t one of the regular listeners to Hoss the Boss. It’s just for fun folks, don’t take it so dang seriously.

Yes Hoss rectification is a real word.
rectification [‚rek·tə·fə′kÄ·shÉ™n]
(civil engineering)
A new alignment to correct a deviation of a stream channel or bank.
(electricity)
The process of converting an alternating current to a unidirectional current.
(geology)
The simplification and straightening of the outline of an initially irregular and crenulate shoreline through the cutting back of headlands and offshore islands by marine erosion, and through deposition of waste from erosion or of sediment brought down by neighboring rivers.
(graphic arts)
The transformation of a photograph onto a horizontal plane so as to remove or correct displacements (distortions in perspective) by tilt.
You did all that just because someone had a problem with their myspace account? lol
You’re a good man Hoss and you’re so right about the social networks ignoring their largest assets.
BTW I left a comment or two on the note section for this article.

Wow. I’m not even sure what rectification means after reading the definition. I’m pretty sure I misused it, though. Hahahahaha.

This is Chris aka Longbowace I have been a friend/supporter of
Sasha Eleyce since I purchased her music back two years ago.
Over the past two years I have learned much about Sasha and her personality and now I considered her family.
Sasha had a strong following back two years ago with her myspace and through many hours of hard work spent on her site she now has 35,948,211 plays with 160,000 plus fans before something happened to her site.
Back in July she won the Grand Prize of $5,000 at the wonderful ourstage.com music contest. I sent all my viewers from around the world to vote her and with the help of all her fans on her myspace profile we won the Grand Prize.
I was looking forward to sending many of my viewers to vote next month for her on this site also but until her myspace is back 100% I see why she wouldn’t want to continue. No musical entertainer would want to go into a contest with no communication with their fans.
I will continue to support Sasha Eleyce sending all my viewers from around the world.

Chris: Thank you for your loyalty to Sasha. I wish she would reconsider her position on being in the finals. She has a huge amount of loyal fans that would surely support and vote for her if she did allow us to put her song into the finals, even if her MySpace page is not functioning properly. I really like Sasha & her music, and will continue to be a friend of hers on MySpace, despite the friction this contest seems to have caused. I hope she’s not actually blaming HTB for the hacking problems she’s been experiencing. I know Don & I had nothing to do with it.

I take back what I wrote above here. I guess Sasha Eleyce is blaming us for her problems, since she deleted herself from my top 40 friend’s page yesterday. This is making me regret ever choosing her to be in this contest! I won’t make that mistake again, or play her music again on my show, or on HTB!.

Hey Tony, Sasha reports that one of the problems with her site is that her picture was not showing up on many of her friends’ pages. She never intended to be removed from yours. That was a MySpace error.
I don’t know if it was my letter to the MySpace PR director that did the trick or not, but, apparently, her site is finally working again. So, maybe she’s showing up on your site again. If she is, I’ll bet she’ll appreciate an apology. If she isn’t, please don’t be so quick to assume the worst. I want us all to just let by-gones be by-gones, dang it!
I can’t make you love Sasha again, dang it. But don’t you still like her music? Do you think she’s really all that bad of a person? I, for one, think she’s been through an undeserved harrowing experience with MySpace, and, if we’re going to be mad at anyone, it ought to be those jerks who ignored her requests for help for days.
Note to everyone: Your mother was right! If you can’t say something nice, it’s best to just not say anything at all.

Alright, I just befriended Sasha again on MySpace, and she accepted it. You’re right, I shouldn’t have been so quick to pass judgement on her, considering the problems she’s been having. I will still be playing her music, and I hope she forgives me for doubting her.

It takes a big man to admit when he’s erred. That’s why I love you, man. I think we’ll all be fine.
Thank you to all voters who helped us out in the competition! We are excited about next month. Also a special thanks to Tony for picking our song to be apart of this.

First of all I’m sorry if anyone one of these talented musicians was in any way defamed. I think that’s terrible and I’m saddened by Hoss’ statement. It was an extremley close competition. I voted daily for my picks. And when my choice wasn’t on top I was scared but I thought to myself hey she’s really good. So I worried some more and made sure I voted everyday. When my pick fell behind over a 100 votes or more I was sad and glad that there was someone else on Indie Road looking for Label City. But sometimes as we travel we are hit by stones or glass in the road that might dent or flat. That shouldn’t stop ones dream of making it to Label City. Yes there are litter bugs who throw trash and don’t follow the rules of the road causing some to crash and sadly give up. But the road can be cleaned and litter bugs removed. Don’t give up. Follow your dreams to Label City. If you don’t make it the first trip you take take another.
Now I don’t know what happened or why Steve Carlson and Ashley Austin fans are being called evil. I am a Steve Carlson fan and I’m not evil at all.
I think very highly of Steve Carlson. He’s so cool and down to earth. I don’t think Steve would want an honor he didn’t get square and fair. He’s just not like that. So if there are some litter bugs throwing garbage on the road. PLEASE STOP. I don’t appreciate it and I don’t think Steve does either.
Hoss could you please extend my sincere apologies to those who might have been blind sighted?
Dang are you listening to me?

I guess you don’t recognize a sarcastic comment when you read one. I’m sure Hoss was just kidding with his statements about giving Shelby & Sasha extra votes, and I’m sure he doesn’t think Steve & Ashley’s fans are evil!

Truely Blue, Roger is exactly correct. My above comments were all intended to be taken as sarcasm. I was writing from the completely illogical and very unfortunate perspective that several of Shelby and Sasha’s fans have graced us with on this site. (I’m waiting for one of them to post a heartfelt thank you at any moment.)
It is sometimes very hard for a guy like me who grew up idolizing sarcastic wits such as Jonathan Swift and Mark Twain to communicate properly in today’s world. Sorry about that. If I ever post something about making Irish babies into soup, I hope my Irish friends will understand that I mean no such thing. On the other hand, I will always make time enjoy of nice bowl of German Senior Citizen Gumbo. Yum.

I like your style, Truely Blue. Not catching on immediately to sarcasm is not necessarily anything to be ashamed of. It’s been known to happen on occasion to the smartest of people, and, in American life it’s an epidemic brought about by our generally piss poor public schools and colleges. It’s refreshing that you would recognize your error and make it clear that you understand the humor rather than, as so many others these days would do, try to convince me that I was somehow wrong for employing this literary device.

Hello Hoss,
I would like to apologize and offer a sincere thank you for clarifying the rules that everyone will play under. That was all I asked. But with the threat of banishment hanging over my head, I hope you note my reluctance to come forward again.
Anyway, thank you again and to all participants, voters, commenators, moderators and yes, Bosses – Happy Holidays for this Thanksgiving weekend and in the coming New Year.
My Best to you and Dee and all involved!
Sincerely,
Frank Jr.

Thanks! All is forgiven. Just no more bitchin’, dang it!
By the way… you did get the message that I’m changing the 18 hour rule as of the start of finals, right? Everyone gets to vote once each 24 hours. Period. If you get locked out, because someone else has used your IP address already, well, that’s life. You have to wait a full 24 hours now.
