  1. We recently had Buddy Hodges on our radio show,
and what a terrific talent he is! His song “Hello I’m Johnny Cash”
is just terrific and his rendition really hits the mark.
The song is based on his real life experience of meeting
Johnny Cash in person as a young man and the influence
that meeting had on him. We got to hear the awesome story behind
that encounter and how it led to to that song during his show with us.

Buddy is simply a total class act!

Be sure to listen to the replay of last Saturday’s Hossey show. Buddy Hodges also told us that story, and he was a great interview, as were Ruby Jane, April Hall and Kat Moore!

I just found this website, after seeing a bulletin on MySpace about voting for Ruby Jane. You guys have some great groups competing in this contest! I voted for Ruby Jane (Been a fan since she was about 12!), Reckless Kelly, Robert Earl Keen & Texas Renegade. The 5th vote was harder, but I ended up choosing Kat Moore’s band. I’ll be back tomorrow to vote again. Keep up the good work ya’ll are doing for independent music in Texas!!

I missed the interview with Ruby Jane yesterday, I hope to catch it on replay. Several people e-mailed me that they heard it. Jim Rhyan said Hoss sent him an e-mail saying Ruby was a “real sweetheart”. That she is. She’s also the best fiddle player I’ve ever heard. I’m fixing to leave to go see her perform at Gruene Hall in New Braunfesl (12:00-3:30), no cover charge, if any of you listeners are in the area. Ruby in person is something you’ll never forget, especially if it’s the first time you’ve ever seen her.

Big Ruby Jane Fan From Austin Reply:

That’s “New Braunfels”, pardon my spelling.
