CD of The Day Show Coming Soon

HossTheBoss.com has several new shows and features in the works, but this one will become as important to the station as the Hossey Music Awards Show now is. (Yes, I  realize that, last year, I promised show would be ready to go by mid-June, 2009. That didn’t happen. Sue me, dang it. Everything always takes much longer than I think it will. ) If you read this post in February or early March, you will likely recall that it said the start date of this show would be in March. Well… it’s going to be a little later. There is much more to getting this thing going than anyone — especially me — has ever realized, and it continues to take longer than I expected. So, while I hope to have the dang thing going by April 1, I ain’t gonna rush myself. I’ll just say the show is still “coming soon.” When it’s ready, you’ll have no trouble finding it here. And I think it’ll be worth the wait.

How The Show Will Work:

Each day at 10 a.m. and p.m. (Central Time) I will play an entire CD from an independent band that I’ve discovered. I’ll also interview the band during the show and post a review — along with lots of relevant links and clips from the CD — so you can read along on the site.  This will be a great way for you to stay connected to the world of music done by independent bands who don’t always get their due from other sources.

The Dang Catch:

Aside from your listening pleasure, the main goal of this show, dear listener,  will be for you to get in the habit of supporting independent music yourself rather relying upon corporations to do that for you.  I know that the world will be a brighter place when more independent bands aren’t having to do work their music in around their day jobs, and this show will be your chance to help turn that tide of the music biz, a few bucks at a time.

The CD of the Day Show’s key feature will be listener memberships that sell for $5 a month. For that relatively tiny amount, you will get an email before every show with an Mp3 featuring one of the day’s songs.  And if you pay in advance for four months ($20 total), we’ll also throw in a CD of your choice. We’ll also be selling CDs and Mp3s from all the bands at hard-to-beat prices. The bulk of the money we bring in from this show will return directly to the bands, and the rest I will  put to good use in running this site.

To assure that HossTheBoss.com becomes a long-term venture in support of independent music, we need at least to have at least 500 monthly members by December, 2010. I hope you will help us toward that goal by becoming a member even before the first show. I’ll be posting a sign-up form for early birds very soon. In the meantime, please send me an email (hoss@hosstheboss.com) to tell me you’re interested, and I’ll get back to you personally when we’re ready to begin officially registering members.

Who Else Will Be On The Show:

Here’s all bands that have agreed so far to let me feature their CD on the show.

Bo Porter, D.B. Reiley, Jack Remington, Jim Jones, Katie Mariah, Lost Immigrants, Mike Parrish, Paul McCormick, Rick Ryman, Richie Albright, Smokey Wilson, Spud Davenport, Tubie Pushee, The Kat Moore Band, Zin Ego.

As soon as we’re just a little more organized,  I’ll be posting a schedules of when these bands  (and others) will be on the show. If you are a musician (or know one) who would like to be on the show, please send me an email with at least one or two Mp3s from your CD, and we can take it from there. If you’d like, you can also send me a sample copy of your CD to HossTheBoss (aka Don Cudd) 6505 Pharoah Dr., Corpus Christi, Texas, 78412, USA.

While you’re waiting for the fun to start, I hope you will use the comment section below (as well as links to HossTheBoss.com from your own websites) to help generate some excitement for this deal.
