- These are the finalists in the Hossey Music Award Song Voting Contest show for January 2012. Six songs will be advancing to The Finals in December because, well, Hoss decided it would be that way — dang it. Listen to the start of our February contest with 30 new songs vying for your love, starting with our next live show at 2 p.m. central time on Saturday, February 4.

here’s the trick if we want this dang country to go forward and not usher in Ragnarock…
Occupiers and Tea Partiers have GOT to do lunch and realize we’re ALL pissed off ALL the time. The RICH will be always with us…as will the politically corrupt…as will all the special interests. Sounds cynical, but it’s just my way of keeping my head where it belongs…in the MUSIC.
Ava’s fan guy Keith…awkward moment…I always appreciated a passionate fan who supported my work..but here’s the thing…we’re MUSICIANS…one cut above homeless EBT card users..

LOL… Sorry I for got Ava..lol..Geezzz I missed hearing it and for some reason missed writing her name down too. Did you also see I missed it was the last day of the contest too..lol..
Thanks for pointing it out. I’ve had a ruff week in and out of ER and I’m not feeling so hot, Not that I’m going to use that as a excuse. But a word from the wise, in the future you should know things aren’t always as they appear to be. Sometime we think someone is rude or project some kind of meaning behind their actions when we don’t really have all the information. If I got made at every person who never said anything about my music or success I wouldn’t have time to even write this reply..lol ..So with that being said!
Congratulations Ava:-) I think everyone should win:-)

Hey Keith,
Would there have been anything wrong with just saying something like, “Ava’s song was pretty cool too!”?
Personally, I think the world could use less pointin’ out of unintended rudeness. (Well, we don’t even have to point out intended rudeness either.) In fact, I’ll argue that’s one of the key points behind Ava’s song.

Thanks for the comments Hoss & Keith. Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. In this instance, the person took the time to congratulate every artist except me. Being that I was 3rd, it’s clear that I was excluded vs. forgetting to list bottom one, etc. No worries though – they are entitled to their opinion. Keith is perfectly justified in pointing it out, just as the person is perfectly entitled to have their opinion. This activity though has nothing to do with the meaning behind my song. As a matter of fact, I write my song from frustration about what I saw all around me that no one was “talking about” – it is about pointing out the obvious as to what “we the people” need to do in order to save our republic. If “we the people” do not stand up and speak out and fight, and or “do nothing” as you took it to mean, then we will lose our republic. How did your gig go Dillon? It sounded delicious:-) Made me wish I wasn’t a vegetarian:-) Being a practicing Buddhist we aren’t supposed to contribute to suffering. . I still have had a barbeque or two in my time. When I was in Texas I loved ribs and burgers. You guys do have the best in the country:-) I also drank beer:-)

Hey Keith, check my message about missing Ava’s song. I just heard it. It’s very well done indeed. Next time I suggest not getting all worked up about dumb things like someone not mentioning an artist. It was a mistake and I missed hearing Ava’s song. Geezzz..
She is beautiful and very talented.
It just looks silly when people get all up in arms about being missed in a congratulatory message. What if someone said they hated your song? It does happen in the business, I’ve been there and always regretted getting mad at the person. If you believe in what you’re doing no one should rattle your cage. I am guilty of over reacting and I hope we all can learn from this:-) God bless you and Ava, I wish her much success:-) Cat
