* On April 28, 2007 Hoss stopped paying into the American music royalties system in protest of the system's incompetence, potential for corruption, and abuse of independent broadcasters and musicians alike. He began asking copyright holders to give him permission to play their music royalty free, but in exchange for links on this site. (Each link is a conservatively estimated value of at least $60 per year in exchange for an estimated few cents that the copyright holder might otherwise be due in royalties from Hoss.) Many bands eagerly gave Hoss permission quickly, but others still have not. Songs for which Hoss does not have full permisison (that is, from both the recording copyright holder and the songwriting copyright holder) will be removed from this list on August 15, 2007. All votes, of course, will be disregarded as well. Copyright holders may download Hoss's standard permission form here. (Although, in most cases, the bands have probably received the form numerous times via email.)
